Ice Cube

Get your skates on and enjoy that festive feeling at Ice Cube. This temporary ice rink attracts the crowds to Millennium Square each January and February. There’s even a café serving drinks to warm your hands on. And if you need more excitement, there’s a 30-metre long and six-metre high dry snow slide to whizz down.

Live at Leeds

Catch up with some of the best current bands at one of the city’s boutique music festivals each April. With previous performances from artists like Ed Sheeran, The Maccabees and Bombay Bicycle Club, Live at Leeds is an event you’re sure to hear about around campus.

A newcomer to the Leeds events calendar, Indie Food has so far been a roaring success. For the past three Mays, the city has turned into an independent food and drink hotspot. Expect film evenings and collaborations between different food and drink venues, showcasing the best of what Leeds has to offer.

Yorkshire Food and Drink Show

Millennium Square carries on the food-based festivities each June, with the Yorkshire Food and Drink Show. Watch food demonstrations from some of the best places to eat and drink in the city. Over on Kirkgate Market, you’ll find independent food producers displaying their impressive produce. Entry is free to the public.
