English Language Preparation
You can improve your English language level at the Leeds International Study Centre
Improve your academic English
If you do not meet the English language requirements to study the International Foundation Year, you can improve your level of English with the English Language Preparation programme. This is a great option for students who wish to improve their English skills before focussing on their chosen subject.
English Language Preparation programme
Taught at the International Study Centre, the English Language Preparation programme is a one-term course that you study before the International Foundation Year course. The English Language Preparation programme will boost your skills and get you on track for further study.
Once you successfully complete the programme, and achieve the required grades, you will go on to study your chosen International Foundation Year subject route at the International Study Centre, before progressing on to your undergraduate degree at Leeds Beckett University.
Entry requirements
To study the English Language Preparation programme you need to have IELTS 4.0 (with minimum 4.0 in writing), or equivalent. You can check the entry requirements for our other courses at the International Study Centre to see what language level you will need to achieve.
Study plans
"Helping students settle in to life in the UK is very rewarding, as I have experience of living overseas and am aware of the challenges facing the students."
